"If I Had a Green Thumb" Flower Baskets

If I had a green thumb, these are some of the flowers I would have growing in my flower garden.  I love bulbs, like Hyacinth, Tulips, and Daffodils.  For some reason, I'm always too late...you have to plan ahead for those type flowers!

I live in South Texas, so some of these flowers just don't survive our summer climate, or our soil. One example...hydrangeas.  Not sure Forsythia's grow here either.  And Dogwood...nope!  Never seen one here!

I wanted a "French Flower Basket" look for my spring door decor.  Since I don't have a garden, I'll pretend I went to the fresh flower market (called Michael's) and grabbed these beauties up.

Then, just haphazardly arranged them in these wicker baskets, with look...a little moss growing on them!  I know you're surprised, coming from me.
(I'll moss anything!)

  1. Hi Janis, Your baskets are lovely! The wonderful thing about buying the blooms at Michael's instead of picking them in the garden is that they are all at their prime at the same time! By the time my hydrangeas look as good as yours the forsythia and tulips are long gone! Beautiful baskets and front doors! Linda

    1. Thank you Linda! Isn't it true, they just don't last as long as I'd like them to, either. We have Mountain Laurels that have gorgeous purple blossoms that smell like grape koolaid...and they are gone within weeks. I so appreciate your kind comments! Blessings...

    1. Oh Elizabeth...thank you! I already had these baskets, and I think I found them at an antique fair, but they were new. I think I've seen some similar at Hobby Lobby, though. Thanks for visiting!!!
