Some lamps are worth hanging onto...even if the shade deteriorates.
This cute little crystal lamp was a wedding present 20+ years ago.
AND...
it's made by Waterford!
I moved it into my daughter's room and placed it on her desk.
We noticed the shade was falling apart, so we pulled it off and
made our own!
My daughter actually did most of this work, with a tiny help from Mom
....and yes, I'm proud!
Since I made her bedding, we have a few scraps laying around,
so she cut strips 3/4-1" wide and began tying!
Yep...just simple knots.
We did squirt one dot of fabric glue in the top knots when we were all done, because they were the most squished
and needed to be secured better.
At first there was a pattern, and then we just began filling in.
We then trimmed the ends and left it all to
stay in its lovely fray-ness!
You might even be able to see some of the strays,
but we like shabby!
Here it is on her desk in all of its loveliness!!
A little velvet, houndstooth, small print, large floral....pretty!
Mr. Goodwill Hunting said at Haven that brass was back...
what do you think?
I love Shabby & Recycling too! Well done!
