I'm just a little excited to share this project with YOU!
I made these scarecrows
and I LOVE to bring them out each Fall season,
Even though they have raffia hair,
muslin faces, and painted button eyes....
these little scarecrows remind me of a
very special time!
Muslin face, painted features, and buttons for eyes. I stuffed the faces with polyfill, and attached the raffia with needle and thread.
He is supported by a 1" X 1" that is attached to a simple flat base.
This beauty, is made the same way, with the addition of little button lips.
Her head is supported by a bent wire coat hanger.
I added little "patches" of scrap fabric with dark stitches.
This year she needed a little re-stuffing in places.
Plastic bags, newspaper, or polyfill all work!
I've used them indoors for a table top decoration.
They have also greeted visitors on our front porch side table,
or atop a hay bale.
So all you Mommies and Grandmommies....
save those cute clothes and make a
keepsake scarecrow!
I think you'll enjoy seeing them every year, just like I do!!!
