{Jewelry Organization} Display

The organization gene did NOT get passed down to me,
so I have to rely on others who have that skill to help me along.

I am sharing this project at 11 Magnolia Lane for their
Operation: Organization. It's 9 days of organizing ideas from different bloggers, so check it out!
What perfect timing for getting the house in order.

My daughter and I have been slowly acquiring some of those
cute statement necklaces. Our jewelry drawers were a mess!
Who wants to waste time searching through a huge pile?
Plus, I've also had to spend time untangling a few.
Operation: Organization to the rescue!
My daughter's room had the perfect space
 to display a jewelry organizer.

I was inspired by Household 6 Diva where she used vintage hangers to display her jewelry. You can see her post here.

Since I don't own any gorgeous vintage hangers, I headed
to Target and purchased a set of wooden hangers.
I also picked up some 3/4" cup hooks at Lowe's.
You'll need 15 total for one hanger.

The hangers would be cute painted to match your decor,
with added polka dots, or even a monogram, etc.
The options are endless here, so let your creativity flow!

I decided to mod podge some pieces of scrap fabric
that coordinated with my daughter's bedding.
I cut some flowers and leaves from the fabric and placed them where I wanted them. I used the gloss Mod Podge by first painting it on the hanger, then laying the fabric pieces on top.

I applied a final coat of Mod Podge on top of the fabric
and let it dry. It dries clear and glossy, so I put some all over the hanger, so the finish would be consistent.
I pre-drilled holes on the underside of the hanger
and inserted the cup hooks.
(I tried to make pilot holes with a nail, but that didn't work)
Now, you are ready to hang the hanger on the wall.
The necklaces are easily seen, and untangled!
Easy peasy!! and a cute addition to the room!
I look forward to getting organized with you and can't wait to see the other Operation: Organization ideas.
