Light at the End of the Tunnel

Hope...
that's what this is all about!

This picture was taken a few years ago as we were traveling to Alabama for a beach trip. I thought it captured beautifully
"there is light at the end of the tunnel".

I shared a few months ago about my journey with chronic disease. If you missed it, you can read it HERE.
What I learned by sharing my story, is that I am not alone!

There are many, many, MANY who suffer in silence
and who are digging deep to push through pain daily.

I was personally and deeply touched by the many comments I received, as well as those who told me their stories.

Through the sharing of stories, I was struck by a few commonalities which led me to think about my very first symptoms. And there began a new search for me.

What I can tell you, is that I'm about to embark on a journey  unlike any I've ever been on before.
I'm excited, anxious, nervous, worried, scared,
but most of all determined!

I'm sharing this with you because I need to take a little break from the blog for a time. I'm not really sure right now how much time, but I will keep you posted.

My wonderful blog friends have offered to guest post for me,
so when I can, I will share these fabulous bloggers
and their talents with you.

And I do have a Mohawk rug giveaway going on until
April 14, 2014....so click over to enter!!!

I also want to share this song that became special to me just weeks before I even knew about my upcoming journey.
God goes before us, prepares the way...
all He asks is that we TRUST Him!

"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders,
let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me,
take me deeper than my feet could ever wander,
and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior."
                                                Oceans, by Hillsong

I'll be sharing a little of my journey on Instagram,
so if you'd like to follow along, my link is HERE.
xoxo,

  3. I am fairly new to your blog so I'd never read your story. I am sad that you are taking a break (I LOVE your blog) but I'm happy that you're doing the right thing for your health. My husband also lives with chronic pain and it took a neck injury for me to be able to empathize with him fully. My pain is only sporadic now but while I was in the midst of intense daily pain I got a glimpse of what people with chronic pain deal with day in and day out. Praying that God's grace will be sufficient to carry you through each day and for His touch of healing in your life. Blessings to you dear one, Patti

    1. Thank you so much Patti for your prayers! I'm sorry you have suffered pain and so sorry your hubby has it chronically. What a gift for him that you can empathize. Praying for his healing as well! God is able to do more than we could ever ask or imagine.
Thanks too for the blog love! Made me smile :-)

  5. I love your blog, and today was the first time I read your story of chronic pain. I have dealt with chronic pain for 31 years years and truly understand how you take one day at a time. My mother was my greatest support but I lost her 18 years ago and lost my father 3 years ago. Thankfully I am blessed with a wonderful husband and 2 amazing sons. It is true that your children grow up with compassion and understanding when they have an ill parent. We all have hard days but I always remind myself that things could be worse and if you try you can find something to be grateful for every day. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope things go well for you,

    1. Oh, I'm so sorry you have dealt with pain for so long. I am seeing lots of very sick people at the treatment center. I feel very grateful to have functioned as well as I have for these 10 years. Hope is a beautiful thing! Thank you so much for your prayers and for your sweet comment. I pray you can find relief from pain soon! xoxo

  6. Hi Janis. I met your mom last Monday on the flight from Okc to Houston. I was blessed by sitting next to her! I have been wondering and praying for you all week. I'm glad to see that treatment is going well so far. I will continue to pray. - Suzanne

    1. Oh how fun to hear from you! Mom hasn't been able to stop talking about you and all of your talents! She enjoyed so much visiting with you. Thank you so much for your prayers! It was a great first week. Mom is an awesome care nurse and I am very fortunate to have her here with me, at least for these first few weeks. I've got to see one of your purses!!! Do you have an Etsy shop?
